Read these instructions carefully before you install. Once you understand the simplicity of how the product is installed you can't make any mistakes.

About the clips.
A supply of 55 clips are included with each box of 50 panels. One clip is used for each 3' length of gutter cover that you install. One additional clip is required to finish a run of gutter. Thus, you should have enough clips to do a total of five gutters totaling 150 feet or less. If you have more than five gutters totaling 150 feet, then you will need to order an additional clip for each gutter over five.

Colors of clips. The color of the clips vary. Since they are installed from the underside of the gutter cover to the top of the front lip, the color of the clip is not visible to any on lookers.

All the holes in the clips. Each clip has one large hole near the bottom end of the clip. A self tapping screw is used to fasten that portion of the clip to the top lip of the gutter. Then there are 6 tiny holes in three rows (rows along the length of the clip). Only one row of two holes are used to install the gutter cover or end cap.

The middle row of two holes is used to join two panels together. The left most row of two holes (again, the row is along the length of the clip--not the width of it) is used to start the first panel (if your starting on the left end of the gutter). If, on the other hand, you're starting to install on the right end of the gutter (looking at the gutter), then the right most row of holes are used.

About the Panels. Notice that on each end of the panel are two holes--one large and one small. And these holes are not in the same position on both ends. That is, as you look at the panel, on the right end the large hole is closest to the front whereas on the left end of the panel, the smallest hole is closest to the front nose of the panel.

Let's install. Let's start from the right end of the gutter (looking at the gutter).
1. Fasten two clips to the first panel to be installed as follows. Position a clip on the underside of the panel and line up the smaller of the two holes on the right end of the panel with the front most hole in the clip and run a screw through the panel and into the small hole in the clip. Warning: Be careful where your fingers are so you avoid running the screw into your finger. If you used the right holes, the edge of the clip should be fairly well lined up with the end of the panel.

Take another clip and go to the left end of the panel. Now line up the smaller of the two holes with the rear hole in the center row of the clip and run a screw through. the small hole in the panel and into the clip on the underside of the panel. If you did it correctly, the clip should extend past the end of the panel by about 1/2"

2. Install a bird shield. If your gutter extends past the rake board on your home, then you'll need to install a flat piece of metal to close off the back of the gutter so birds can't get into the gutter. Take a flat piece of metal (make it wide enough to slide in behind the gutter about a half inch or so and long enough to extend downward from the top rear of the gutter about an inch. Position the bottom portion on the inside top edge of the gutter and run a screw through it and the gutter to make it stationary.

3. Install your first gutter cover panel. Slide the rear flat edge of the panel between the under course of shingle and the first course of shingle. If If your tar paper is in bad condition or your under course shingle is in bad condition, you'll need to install flashing (not supplied) along the roof edge to prevent leaks.
Next position the gutter clip on top the gutter lip. Slide the clip (already installed to the panel) to the far left end of the gutter such that the clip is against the gutter end cap. Run a screw through the larger hole of the clip and into the gutter lip. Then repeat with the clip on the right end of the gutter.

4. Using the end cap for the right end of the gutter, place the large hole over the screw that you used to install the panel to the clip. Run a screw through the smaller of the two holes on the end cap through the large hole of the panel and into the remaining rear hole in the left most row of the clip.
If you let the bottom of the end cap go inside the end cap, it will give you the best appearance, however, a squirrel may push his way through, so you may want to install the bottom edge of the end cap on the outside of the end cap. Trim to shorten if necessary and you may run a screw through the end cap and into the gutter end cap to fasten.

5. Install your next panel by first fastening a clip to the right end of the panel only. Then slide the panel between the shingles as you did previously and position larger of the two holes on the left end of the panel over the screw previously installed on the first panel. Run another screw through the remaining small hole into the clip previously installed. Continue as before until you reach the end of the gutter.

6. Before you install your last panel, install the bird shield on the right end of the gutter as you did previously for the other end of the gutter--see #2 above.

7.. For the last panel, lay it in position and mark where the end of the gutter is.Using your shears cut the panel to length. Since you have no prefabricated guide holes in this end, you will use a clip to locate your holes by placing the clip on the bottom end of the panel. This time, run the screw (only to start it) from the bottom of the clip through the top of the panel. In other words, you'll make your own guide holes. You'll use the hole on the clip which is closest to the back of the clip. Then remove the screw you just started from the bottom and run it through the top of the panel into the clip.

8. Install the left end cap as you did previously for the right end of the gutter..

Outside corners.
Clips are located about 6" from the end of the outside of the gutter. Use your shear to angle the panels on each end so that they overlap sufficiently to screw the tops together.

Inside corners.
About 6" of the front nose of the panel must be removed on each panel that is connected in the inside corner. You can angle cut to overlap the panels so they can be screwed together. Once installed, fencelike diverters should be installed on top of the panels to divert the water from the valley to the fronts of both panels. You'll need to order a diverter kit which contains instructions for installation.
