Thinking about going into the business of gutter protection?

We find that there are two basic philosophies of those getting into the gutter cover business.

1. Connect the business to the performance of the product

1a. Dealers who do this offer a product, sell it for about $20/ft+ and hire a full time service crew to keep it working for as long as they are in business. With this philosophy they could sell screens, however, it's hard to justify $20/ft+ for screens so usually they sell a round nose gutter guard like the one owned by that multi billion dollar company which won't let us mention its name that gets nailed into the roof, or a close variation, or all-in-one leaf guard.

1b. Or, using one of these same products,  they use contracts with small print and charge high maintenance fees to recondition the product when it fails. Either way, the customer has to be serviced by the company to keep the gutters clean.

2. Offer the product that will work for the customer in any kind of debris conditions. A product that if any maintenance is ever required, it could be easily done by the homeowner from the ground, long after they've sold their business.
